Welcome to the home page of David T. Long.  I have degrees in hydrogeology (MS) and aqueous geochemistry (PhD) and do research and teaching in the broad areas of Aqueous and Environmental Geochemistry.  Environments that I study include groundwater, rivers, lakes, oceans, and rain. Media include water, sediments (modern and acient), soils, and biologic material.  I am interested in understanding and modeling the geochemical (bio/inorganic/isotopic) state and evolution of aquatic systems.  Recent research has been the application of geographic information systems (GIS) to geochemical- hydrological investigations.  In addition, I am very interested linking knowledge of microbiological processes to geochemical processes and models such as PHREEQC.
