Dr. Webber and his students are currently interested in several aspects of land cover change. Current interests include the potential responses of Arctic tundra vegetation to climate change and various human induced impact. Research efforts currently focus on the Arctic tundra of the North Slope of Alaska, although the AEL has strong circumpolar and international collaborative relationships.
The AEL is maintained within the Michigan State University Department of Plant Biology and also has close ties to the Computational Ecology and Visualization Laboratory in the Department of Entomology.
