Small-Scale Decadal Change in Land Cover Near Barrow, Alaska

Methods:

• Large changes were apparent at the microtopographic grid (Figs. 2 and 3). Data was collated and a Geographical Information system (GIS) was constructed in (ArcView v3.2).

• Overlays were made for:
  
  (1) Geomorphic features.
  
  (2) Microtopography.
  
  (3) Active Layer.
  
  (4) Compression.
  
  (5) Peg Height.
  
  (6) Vegetation.

  Changes between 1973 and 2000 were assessed.
