What is the effect of excluding herbivores from tundra for five decades?

Herbivory exclosures established in a variety of land cover types near Barrow in the early 1950's were sampled in summer 2002 to determine the effect of herbivores on ecosystem structure and function. We believe these exclosures could be the oldest in the Arctic.
