Researchers from Michigan State University , University of Michigan , and Wayne State University , together with volunteers from the Michigan Lake and Stream Association and other local stakeholders, are collaborating to conduct an ecological survey of the Muskegon River watershed ( Michigan , USA ). Our primary goal is to develop and apply new methods for assessing the ecological integrity of aquatic ecosystems. Project outcomes will be directed toward supporting ecosystem management and restoration of this important Great Lakes fisheries resource and, ultimately, other similar ecosystems worldwide. This web page provides researchers and the public with data, both site-specific and summarized at a watershed scale, as well as other informational resources concerning the Muskegon River ecological assessment. This project is funded by the Great Lakes Fishery Trust as part of the Muskegon River initiative. |
