Ecologically based management in agriculture relies heavily on the use of natural enemies to regulate pest populations. This approach requires a good understanding on the effect of landscape complexity on the population dynamics of beneficial insects. Since 1989, we have studied these issues at the Kellogg Biological Station –Long Term Ecological Research Site ( lter.kbs.msu.edu) using ladybird beetles as our focus. This NSF funded project has as main objectives:

Ecological analysis of insects.
