| A group of nine Land Grant Universities formed a Consortium for Agricultural Soils Mitigation of Greenhouse Gases (CASMGS). This multidisciplinary project will focus on the agricultural landscape. Part of the project will be aimed to provide the capabilities to quantify and predict sinks and sources of greenhouse gases from agricultural soils and to assess the economic, environmental, and biophysical impacts of mitigation practices and policies. Specifically, the CEVL will be involved in the development of modeling environments to expand the use of process oriented field crop models. These models will allow conducting carbon budget analysis due to regional land use/cover change. |
