In 1999, the CEVL joined efforts with other research programs in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota to constitute the Upper Midwest Regional Earth Science Application Center (resac.gis.unm.edu). This center has a goal to provide environmental information service to interested stakeholders through technical expertise and an array of information products and decision support tools. In CEVL we are involved in developing crop classification and monitoring approaches for obtaining crop information at the county to regional level. In addition we are conducting corn modeling analysis for the Upper Great Lakes states (MI, WI, MN).
